Wheeler Newborn In-home Story Session

Watch a snipet video from the session above in full screen for full effect! (There is music, so if you’re at work … be warned :)

Sweet baby Jace was a fresh eight days old when I was invited to the Wheeler home to photograph their day. Dear lord what a cutie! I went back three weeks later to show them their gallery of photos, and he’d already changed so much! But he is settling into his new home quite nicely and he’s completely adored by his older sister, Leona, and brother, Rowan. His furry siblings, Reecie + Murphy aren’t sure about him just yet.

An in-home story session is so great when you have a newborn, because there is really no stress. You don’t even have to clean your house (believe you me, I have no room for judgement… and I know what it’s like having a newborn). The purpose is to freeze one day of your life just as it is, since your life has changed dramatically in the past few days (or weeks), and your baby will grow and change so very fast. The nursing, the crying, the sleeping, the cuddling in bed… oh my gosh these are the things to remember! I love love love real moments. I’m not going to wrap any baby in gauze and put them in a bucket to take a photo...there are plenty of very talented photographers that do that. I’m interested in capturing how you feel in the moment.. because as soon as you blink, that moment is gone.
